Programs
All training programs at OBA start with joining one of our memberships. Please go through the following section of memberships 
Memberships

OBA is a membership based academy that provides all the training and playing programs for its members. OBA professionals are obligated to work only for its members and shall not work in any form for non members in the academy or outside of the academy.

In order to participate in any of the OBA programs, first thing first is to become an OBA member

​

As an OBA member, you shall agree to comply all its rules and regulations, you shall agree to represent OBA to all tournaments arranged by Badminton Ontario and Badminton Canada. All other tournaments organized outside of above governing body you shall go, you shall agree to get OBA consent if you shall not represent OBA, and OBA shall not unreasonably object.


There are 3 types of memberships available to choose from: Basic Membership, Training Membership and Team Membership.

2. TRAINING MEMBERSHIP

Training Membership

(Annual: 2017 Sept 1 - 2018 Aug 31)
 

Training Membership Fee:

Junior  $340 plus tax
Parent $320 plus tax

Benefits:

  • Drop in and play (later refer it as 'Drop-in') at the available courts at any time when there is no team training session going on with no additional cost.

  • You may book court/s at a low rate at Drop-in session to play with other member/s with no additional cost.

  • You may book court/s at a low rate at Drop-in session to bring in your non-member friend/s to play with a guest fee of $10 for each guest.

  • You have an opportunity to learn from OBA professionals by taking any lessons and classes, joining any OBA teams initially or later on, with its fee rate.

3. TEAM MEMBERSHIP

Team Membership

(Annual: 2017 Sept 1 - 2018 Aug 31)

 

Team Membership Fee: $360 plus tax


Benefits:

On top of Basic membership,

  • You are accepted as a member of one of the OBA competitive teams.

  • With an additional team training fee, you shall have a well arranged 4 times a week training schedule year round to ensure you having professional training to explore your potential and pursue your dream of success and excellence.

  • You shall have coaching help alongside when at tournament (Provincial) without extra fee charge.

  • You shall receive a team T-shirt at registration.

  • You shall have a profile page on this website.

1. BASIC MEMBERSHIP

Basic Membership

(Annual: 2017 Sept 1 - 2018 Aug 31)

(For school students grade 1 - 12 only)

Basic Membership Fee:  $100 plus tax

​

Benefit:

  • To take all kinds of lessons and classes we posted

  • Free drop in to play and practice on all Mondays especially school PA days and public holidays during the gym open to close (using court will be in a rotation formation if there is people waiting for court)

  • You may bring your guests in with guest fee charge for that drop-in day

  • You may book court/s with fee charge at your drop-in session to play with your guest

  • You can upgrade your membership to Training Membership or to Team Membership anytime after you have joined Basic Membership.

We are very passionate about our teams' drive, skill and sportsmanship. OBA offers four different teams: the Elite, the Provincial A, the Provincial B and the Pre-Provincial teams. Tryouts are available if you’d like to become part of our team! Schedules and fees are listed below.

4 times weekly training year round

  • Wednesday 07:30 pm - 10:00 pm (2.5 hours) Technique training

  • At least two students to open the class, please contact us to check the class registration status

  • Most classes posted 2 times a week

  • Least requirement to taking class is once a week

  • One can opt 2 times a week at a same level class

  • One thinks more the 2 times a week recommended to consider joining our team

  • Coach student ratio: 1/6
